Changelog

What’s new in Grein

Features and changes you’ll notice in Grein, listed by the day they shipped, newest first.

October 2026

Collapsible workspace sidebar

The sidebar on your dashboard and in settings can collapse to a narrow row of icons. Grein remembers your choice in that browser.

See and sign out your sessions

Settings → Security lists the devices signed in to your account, with their location. You can sign out one of them, or every session except the one you’re using.

Connect Grein to your AI app

Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity now connect with a “Connect Grein” sign-in instead of a pasted token. You approve the app on a consent page and can disconnect it from settings.

Redesigned Connections settings

The Connections page shows each supported AI app, what’s connected, and your access tokens in one place.

AI edits appear live

When Claude, ChatGPT or another app edits a board over MCP, the changes show up on an open canvas as they happen.

Export a board as PNG or PDF

Download the board you’re on as an image or a PDF from the canvas settings menu.

Feature announcements

New features are announced in the app when you open your dashboard.

Tidy up

The Tidy up button packs the blocks on a board closely around the centre of your screen.

Grein in Italian

The app is available in Italian. It follows your browser’s language, and a language switcher lets you pick one yourself.

Chrome extension

Save pages, links, images and text to a board from Chrome.

Shorter sign-up

The sign-up form asks only for your name, email and password. A short onboarding step asks the rest.

@mentions

Mention someone in project chat or a comment with @ and their username, and they get a notification.

New templates

More starter templates to begin a project from.

Dia reads links and documents

Dia, Grein’s AI assistant, can open links, read documents on your board and search the web.

Peek (beta)

Peek suggests what to do next on your board while you work. Choose how often it speaks up: Quiet, Subtle or Proactive.

Ask AI about one block

Right-click a block and choose Ask AI to ask about that block alone, without the rest of the board.

Delete your account

You can delete your account from settings. For 30 days you can get it back by signing in again; after that it’s deleted for good.

Choose what to download

When you download your data, pick which parts to include.

Settings inside the workspace

Settings open beside your workspace sidebar, so moving between them and your projects doesn’t feel like leaving the app.

Referral rewards

Invite people with your link. Every five who qualify earn you 14 days of Pro.

September 2026

Project trash

Deleted projects go to the trash, where you can restore them.

Shared and Trash views

Projects shared with you and projects in the trash each have their own page.
